Cinta Granate, in Ten Brighter Pinks

The garnet ribbon, taken up the scale — first louder at its own hue, then swung across the whole pink family.

Scheme 05 is a monochrome ribbon: one hue at two values, the dark carrying the wide band and every ink job, the light carrying the narrow one. That structure is kept exactly here. The only thing that changes is how bright the hue is allowed to be.

Brighter moves away from the refused colour, not toward it. The direction rejects “colores pastel infantiles” and names rosa first, so this sounds like the dangerous request. It is the opposite. A pastel is high lightness and low chroma — a colour watered down toward white. A vivid pink is the reverse: it keeps its chroma and keeps its body. Every scheme below is tested for that at load, none of the ten trips it, and all ten carry more chroma than the delivered card. Going paler would have been the risk.

Two axes, one at a time

  • 01–05 · The ladder. The original’s own hue, 349°, with chroma climbing 0.50 → 0.82. Answers “how much brighter?”
  • 06–10 · The arc. Held at the ladder’s step-4 intensity and swung across the pink family, 8° → 308°. Answers “which pink?”
  • Confounding the two would give ten options nobody can choose between
  • 00 is the card as delivered, for comparison

Held fixed · and what was measured

  • Marfil #FAF6EE · tierra #2C2419 · the arch, the 13% column, the 9px/6px pitch, the bled ghost “E”, every word
  • Card 00 is written out; all ten are cloned from it
  • Pastel test — lightness > 0.75 and saturation < 0.50. Both, not either
  • Venue line ≥ 3:1 on the marfil, and A-against-B ≥ 1.25:1 so the two bands still separate
  • Legibility turned out never to bind — measured across the whole arc at 70% chroma, even lightness 0.58 clears 3:1. What limits this set is taste and press, not contrast

The map

Where each pink actually sits

Across is hue, along the pink arc from orchid on the left through true rose to coral on the right. Up is chroma — how much colour is in it. The delivered card 00 sits at the bottom, which is the whole point: it is not a pale pink, it is a low-chroma one.

The two groups make an L. The ladder climbs straight up at 349°; the arc runs straight across the top. Hover to isolate, click to jump.

All eleven at once

The ladder is easier to judge side by side

Read left to right: 00 is today, then the five rungs, then the five hues. The jump to look for is between 02 and 03 — 00 through 02 all still read as wine, and 03 is the first that reads as pink. That is the studio’s call, not a measurement; the strip is here so you can disagree with it.

Measured, not judged

Every one clears every gate

Generated at load from the colours the cards actually paint. Chroma is the number that answers the brief — all ten are above the delivered card’s 0.41. Pastel needs high lightness and low chroma together; none of these has both.
