The finished suite

Six pieces. And then one for every guest.

Every piece below is the delivered artwork, not a mock-up of it. The panel is live: put a name in it and watch each piece that carries a name take it, exactly as it does in a real print run.

The pieces that read the same for the whole room carry no name at all — and we say so.

The chosen world

ULTRAVIOLET

Direction B

Pure typographic force. The identity operates entirely through letterform, grid, and restraint — no imagery, no ornamentation, no warmth. Cold, precise, subterranean. The design language of a transmission from underground.

What the direction refused

Six things that are not here.

A direction is as much what it turns down. This list was written when ULTRAVIOLET Transmission was chosen, and every piece below holds to it.

Digital Invitation Sp. No. 01

Personalizable · listening-party-invitation.html
What the platform sets

The primary communication piece, die-cut round at 148mm — the shape the night is about. ULTRAVIOLET runs across the centre line, where a record carries its title, with event details in Jost 300. The Oslo line is set beneath them, not watermarked behind them.

One salutation line, set in the card's own type, above the line the hosts wrote. Everything else is the delivered artwork.

The greeting is the only word the language control changes, and the companion line the only thing plus-one adds — one edition, not a second set of files.

Each guest's own code — live, and it scans. It is not printed on this piece; in this suite it belongs to Branded QR Code.

Menu Card Sp. No. 02

One design here

Passed small plates and drinks. Bodoni italic for food names; "The Ultraviolet" signature cocktail rendered in Electric Violet — the only item singled out by colour.

Delivered here as one design. It is a piece the platform personalises per guest wherever a suite ships its platform edition.

AN Monogram Sp. No. 05

Shared piece · listening-party-monogram-mark.html
A shared piece

The mark itself: AN in Bodoni Moda italic, amethyst on obsidian, holding 69% of its field — the rest is the clear space it is never set inside. The six colourways and the full usage table are specified in § 06 above; this is the artefact those rules govern.

It reads the same for the whole room, so it prints once.

Branded QR Code Sp. No. 06

The Living Invitation

The same card. And also a page.

At the guest's own link the platform renders Digital Invitation — this same file, not a second rendition — and adds a reply panel to it. On the left, as it prints, with no trace of the panel. On the right, as it opens.

As it prints
As it opens at their link

The panel is injected by the platform, not drawn by the design, and the printed card carries no trace of it. The right-hand state shows how it reads; for the platform to compose it into this piece, the file declares the empty container the Living Invitation expects.

What that is worth on the day

The part you cannot see from a photograph

6

Print files, not templates

The six designs above are delivered as print-ready files — at the true trim size, with the backgrounds and the fonts the printer expects. The one that carries a name becomes a personalised file for every guest on the list.

01

Only what should carry a name

One of the six pieces carries a name. The rest read the same for the whole room, so they print once — and each one says so.

1:2

One code, two jobs

Each guest's own code opens their own page. The same code, read at the door, marks them arrived — so the host knows who is in the room without a clipboard.

The invitation is also a page

The same card, at the same guest’s link, with a reply panel drawn into it. Not a separate digital version in a different style — the design itself, continued. It is further down this page, in both of its states.
